“People are dropping like flies. Who the hell’s murdering them?” asks Private Detective Jake Wayde. He realizes it’s now killed or be killed.
The plot of The Deadly Puzzle has more turns than a coiled rattlesnake. There’s a goodly dose of mean, murderous women among the diverse characters that add to the violence, blood, and pain.
After his death, Dr. Frederick Rhineman sets in motion a complex plot involving his twelve most hated people. They are pitted against each other to collect a prize of ten million dollars and a newly developed chemical formula that many nations would pay extreme amounts of money. Each of the people the Doctor has a grudge against receives a letter containing a puzzle piece. The person who collects Rhineman’s twelve hand-cut puzzle pieces with written clues attached is the winner. Or are they?
Twelve people receive aletter with a handmade puzzle piece from renowned chemist, Dr. FredrickRhineman after his death. He instructs them to put the pieces together toreveal the whereabouts of a deadly new chemical and ten million dollars.Private Detective Jake Wayde doesn’t know why he received a letter with apuzzle piece but it becomes apparent very quickly that he must find thechemical and money. It becomes a game of” kill or be killed.”
The plot is fresh with somany twists and turns. The characters are well thought out and originalas well. I couldn’t wait to turn each page. I think ‘Puzzle ofDeath’ would make an excellent movie. In fact, that is how I saw it in mymind as I was reading it. It is more violent than books I normally readbut I was forewarned and after reading the description, I was convinced I hadto read it. I am so glad I did. It was hard not to look away attimes due to the graphic violence yet the writing was so engaging. Ihighly recommend it to readers who love detective novels and give it 5 stars.
